 Main Objective: As an Eastern Arthroplasty specialist for Peerless Surgical, Inc. representing Arthrex, Inc., employee’s essential job functions include assisting in sales, representation, and technical support on products that include, but are not limited to the following categories: Total Shoulder, Reverse Total Shoulder, Unicompartmental Knee, Total Knee, Patella Femoral Joint Replacement, and Total Hip. The Eastern Arthroplasty Manager will be the liaison with Agency Sales Leadership, Agency Technology Consultants, and other Arthrex Sales Leadership with the overall goal of increasing Arthrex Arthroplasty Sales.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary contact between Agency Management, Technologly Consultants and Arthrex Accounts in regards to Arthroplasty
  • Agency executive contact for Arthroplasty customer contacts:
    1. Maintains, strengthens, and/or expands existing relationships with selected accounts.
    2. Develops, implements, and monitors sales and finance plans with these accounts.
    3. Develops, directs, coordinates, and monitors sales and finance plans with appropriate contacts (Regional Management, Agency Leadership, and Technology Consultants).
    4. Has or will obtain a thorough understanding of selected account sales history, surgeon customers, buying group affiliations, objectives, and structure
  • Evaluates strategic opportunities with select accounts and outlines solutions in meetings with Agency Leadership and Arthrex National Accounts (when appropriate).
  • Reviews with Agency Leadership requests for account visits and schedules as appropriate.
  • Understands and knows all Arthroplasty products, surgical procedures, and can speak knowledgeably with both account and surgeon customer on these subjects.
  • Coordinates Agency training on Arthroplasty products.
  • Must be willing to travel within Agency specific accounts (sometimes overnight)
  • Cross-sell additional products to better serve customers.
  • Attends industry meetings outside of normal business hour when appropriate.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Biology, Human Sciences, or similar
  • 1-3 years of sales, preferably in Arthroplasty
  • Ability to learn a high level of technical information, anatomy and indications as it relates to surgery and procedures
  • Comfortable in an OR setting

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Experienced and comfortable making presentations for account management and staff.
  • Must be able to comfortably present to 10 or more people
  • Knowledge of surgical orthopedics and/or arthroscopy.
  • Skilled in working with different functions and effectively coordinates activities to achieve desired results. 
  • Excellent listening skills, including the ability to identify and isolate customers concerns or objections, in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to persuade and stand ground while putting the whole room at ease.   
  • Strong relationship-building skills required.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills are required.
  • Must be able to calculate, evaluate, and explain grow and loss percentages to Account Specific Leadership, Arthrex Leadership and Agency Leadership

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Microsoft Office, PC and various and specialized software. Strong PowerPoint Presentation ability. Strong Excel ability a must.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
